Daniel Pearl Music Day Concert

Western New England College hosted the 7th annual Daniel Pearl Music Day of Peace and Harmony concert on Sunday, October 19 to honor the life of Daniel Pearl, a journalist, humanitarian, and accomplished musician who was murdered in 2002. The event, presented in collaboration by the College, the Community Music School of Springfield, the Islamic Society of Western Massachusetts, and Temple Beth El, was part of a world-wide celebration of the life of Daniel Pearl, whose love of music brought people together throughout his travels.

The concert featured performances by the Western New England College Campus Choir, the Children’s Choruses and String Ensemble of the Community Music School, “Klez Connection” Klezmer Ensemble, the Gospel Choir from St. John’s Congregational Church, and a recitation from the Quran given by Imam Wisam Abdul-Baki of the Islamic Society of Western Massachusetts.
