Is the Antichrist real or a myth? Scholars and religious leaders weigh in on its relevance

Although the Antichrist is prominently a figure in evangelical Christian theology, Imam Wissam Abdul Baki, of the Islamic Society of Western Mass., explained that “According to Islamic faith, a series of signs will appear before the end, and one of them is the appearance of this mysterious creature, known as Addajjal,” which means the false God, and is an equivalent to the Christian Antichrist. Texts also provide physical characterstics of the Addajjal, according to the Imam. “In a confirmed narration, Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon Him) said: “No Prophet was sent but that he warned his followers against the one-eyed liar (Ad-Dajjal). Beware! He is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not so, and there will be written between his (Ad-Dajjal’s) eyes (the word) Kafir (i.e., disbeliever).” Additionally, Imam Abdul Baki explained, “The Prophet of God (Peace be upon Him) gave more details about Addajjal, when He said: “He will be a young man with twisted, cropped hair, and a blind eye,” spreading mischief and confusing ideas throughout the world.” Yet the Imam also added that the topic “is completely connected to the knowledge of the unseen,” emphasizing that “people will deal with it based on their conviction.”…more:  .thegardnernews
