Remembering Allaah

Remembering Allah
The Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam) narrated: “Allah says, ‘I am to my servant as he expects of Me, I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers me in an assembly I mention him in an assembly better than his…and if he comes to me walking…I rush to him with great speed.”

Avoid abuse

Relieved or relieving?
A funeral procession once passed by the Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam) and he said, “Relieved or relieving?”  The people asked, “What is relieved and relieving?”  He said, “A believer is relieved by death from the troubles and hardships of the world, and leaves for the Mercy of Allah, while the death of a wicked person relieves the people, the land, the trees and the animals from him.”
[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 519]

Seek Allah’s pardon

The Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam) recited, “My servants who have transgressed against their souls through sin should not despair of Allah’s Mercy, for Allah pardons all sins.”
[Holy Qur’an, 39:53]

The Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasallam) also quoted the devil as saying to Allah, ” I shall continue to lead Thy servants astray as long as their spirits are in their bodies.”  Allah replied, “And I shall continue to pardon them as long as they ask My forgiveness.”

A clean heart
The Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “No companion of mine should tell me anything bad about another person. For when I meet you, I would like my heart to be clean (unbiased).”

Avoid what is doubtful
The Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “That which is lawful is clear, and that which is unlawful is also quite clear. Between these two is that which is ambiguous, which most people do not know. One who avoids the doubtful safeguards his faith and his honour.”
