Agawam schools to carry Narcan, controversial heroin overdose antidote

In case you haven’t heard, Massachusetts has a drug problem. In particular, the state has a problem with opioids, whether the addict’s drug of choice is heroin, OxyContin or some other class of opioid — natural and synthetic substances that act on receptors in the brain to produce a euphoric high and relieve pain.
