As-Salaamu Alaikum dear and beloved community,
The Holy day of Al-Odha is here and with its sacredness, we remember the infinite bounties of Allah upon us and His guidance.
We remember the sacredness of our pact with Allah we gave to Him when we did the shahadat of “La Ilaha Illa Allah and Mohammed rasulul-lah”.
We remember Allah’s order to us to be united, care for each other and stand together for Justice and mercy wherever we are, especially in this difficult time of our history as American Muslims.
Dear and beloved community,
I’d like to take advantage of this sacred and blessed Eid to extend my wholehearted Eid greeting to each and every one of you.
Wishing you the best of this world and hereafter.
And at the same time I’d like to remind you of the recommendable fasting of the day of Arafat and the remembrance of Allah in this special day with a lot of Duaa.
Abu Hafsah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said:”Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on ‘Ashura, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years.”(Reported by all except Al-Bukhari and At-Tirmidhi)
And Amr ibn Shu’aib reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best supplication is that which is made on the day of ‘Arafāt. The best of it is what was said by myself and the prophets before me: No one has the right to be worshiped but Allah(God) alone without any partners, unto him belong the kingdom of the heaven and the earth and all praise and he has power over all things.”(Sunan al-Tirmidhī)
Eid Mubarak and may Allah bless you,
(The Holy Qur’aan)
