What is Islam? (The Hadith of Angel Gabriel)

on the authority of ‘Umar, radiyallahu ‘anhu, who said: “While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No…

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, “Allah, the Exalted, has said: ‘O son of Adam! I shall go on forgiving you so long as you pray to Me and aspire for My forgiveness whatever may be your sins. O son of Adam! I do not care even if your sins should pile up to the sky and should you beg pardon of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you come to Me with an earthful of sins and meet Me, not associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much pardon as will fill the earth.”‘[At-Tirmidhi].

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said (which means): Allah said: Sons of Adam inveigh against [the vicissitudes of] Time, and I am -The creator of incidents that happen in the- Time, in My hand is the night and the day”(Bukhari & Muslim). Comments: As the Almighty God is the Ordainer of all things – based on His absolute wisdom, Fairness, Mercy and all attributes- and when people inveigh against misfortunes that are part of Time is tantamount to inveighing against Him.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, says (which means): “Allah the Exalted said: Verily, I am independent and in need of no partner. Whoever performs a deed in which he associates something with me, I will leave him to his partner.” (Sahih Muslim)

In his absence, we saw a red bird which had two young ones with it. We caught them and the red mother bird came, beating the earth with its wings. In the meantime the Prophet (ﷺ) returned and said, “Who has put this bird to distress on account of its young? Return them to her.” He (ﷺ) also noticed a mound of ants which we had burnt up. He asked, “Who has set fire to this?” We replied: “We have done so.” He (ﷺ) said, “None can chastise with fire except the Rubb ( God)  of the fire.”(Confirmed Hadith)
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, guide me to such an action which, if I do Allah will love me and the people will also love me.” He (ﷺ) said, “Have no desire for this world (you may have it in hand  but not in heart or aim), Allah will love you; and have no desire for what people possess, and the people will love you.”[Ibn Majah]

Narrated by Muslim bin Yasar that he heard Abu Hurairah say, “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, ‘At the end of time there will be imposters and liars who will bring ahadith that neither you nor your forefathers ever heard. Beware of them and stay away from them, and do not let them mislead you or confuse you.'” (Sahih Muslim)
