Faith!

The Holy Qur'an > Surah Al-Baqarah> Verse 19
Or (another similitude) is that of a rain-laden cloud from the sky: in it are zones of darkness, and thunder and lightning: they press their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunderclap, the while they are in terror of death. But Allah is ever round the rejecters of Faith!

The Most Important Thing to do in Ramadan

The Most Important Thing to do in Ramadan

Lailatul-Qadr: It is the night of Mercy and Peace. Allah blessed it by multiplying our good deeds more than 1000 months. It is most likely to be on the night of the 26th of Ramadan. A special program will be presented by the ISWM

interfaith Iftaar on 24 of Sept.

The Most Important Thing to do in Ramadan:

1-Sincerely please Allah & follow His beloved Prophet.

2-Come closer to Allah by knowing His names, reading and understanding His Book and begging Him for help to do that.

3-Have Sincere Intention to fast whole month.

4-Perform deep daily prayer (with full meaning) & try to perform more prayers at the Masjid.

5-Have sincere intention to make complete change.

6- Be more Devoted, Humble, Charitable, Sociable, Helpful, Selfless, Cheerful, Handsome, Kind and Patient.

7-Have a clean heart and wish good for every one .

8-Take advantage of the blessed Ramadan, for it could be your last one…

Newspaper wasn't sensitive to Muslims

Newspaper wasn't sensitive to Muslims
Wednesday,  October 8, 2008 3:10 AM
The Saturday Forum column "Suppressing speech is not the answer" by Dispatch Editorial Page Editor Glenn Sheller concerned complaints about the paper's acceptance of the DVD Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West as an advertising supplement.

Sheller said, "The discomfort of blameless Muslims, however, is not more important than the expression of free speech." He also said, "For many years, CAIR has waged a campaign to intimidate and silence anyone who raises alarms about the dangers of Islamic extremism."

I don't doubt Sheller's sincerity, but I would challenge him to document those assertions about the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Freedom of speech is essential in a democracy, and I would not deny Sheller's right to express his views, but I am disappointed that a great newspaper like The Dispatch would carry his characterization of the situation as "discomfort" and accuse CAIR of engaging in a campaign to silence its critics.

Why did The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer and Cincinnati Enquirer decline to accept the DVD ad ? Does The Dispatch believe those newspapers are silencing free speech?

I have appreciated the paper for a long time and have been a consistent advocate on its behalf, but I am convinced that Sheller's column unfairly minimized the understandable apprehension within the Muslim community and distorted CAIR's work on its behalf.
